When I studied in high school, my teacher always said "Skillful sailors aren't made by smooth seas." to students . It tells me that it won't help me to improve my skill on everything if I always keep practicing on the easiest part and don't challenge higher level! I think everyone can understand what does this mean, because we must to finish preparing for everything before achieve our goal. In other word, we need to do a lot of effort to be the best to face any problem!
What we only can do is that find a good way to make effort form experiences. As it said, various situation will give sailors experience to know how to do in rough sea. In my opinion, people who focus on their weak points and improve them to be strong points are like good sailors. We sometimes struggle with the "rough sea" in our life, but people who want to be good sailors will achieve their goal.
Hi Jerry! :) I liked your text and totally agree with you. I think this is the point, focus on weak points and improve them.
ReplyDeleteI am agree with you. We should challenge ourselves and improve ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI like this one too. Another favorite of mine is this: "A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are made for." All of you (international students) are out of the 'harbor' and experience life!
